Asian stock markets advanced in early trading Thursday after worries about Europe's financial health eased, sending Wall Street higher.
The markets seem to have taken a pause after gaining around 3% in the last two trading sessions. The Sensex ended at 18666, higher by 21 points and the Nifty ended above the 5600 points for the second day in a row at 5607, up three points. The midcap index ended at 7996, higher by 27 points and the midcap index ended at 10216, up 59 points.

The markets have a soft opening, with the Sensex quoting at 18,545, weaker by 102 points and the Nifty losing 33 points at 5,570. The US stocks fell in very light volume on Tuesday as investors seized on renewed concerns about European banks, as a reason to sell shares after strong gains last week.
Stock markets opened higher Wednesday after a successful bond auction in Portugal helped to ease investors’ fears about the health of European government debt.
